Op woensdag 18 maart brak rond 11:31 uur een uitslaande woningbrand uit aan de Tolstraat in Voorschoten. De brandweer rukte massaal uit met meerdere eenheden (P1-prioriteit) en had de brand onder controle. Naar aanleiding van het incident werd ook een gasleiding beschadigd, waardoor het gasnet werd uitgeschakeld en omliggende woningen moesten worden ontruimd. Volgens het Leidsch Dagblad en AD.nl is één persoon vanwege medische klachten naar het ziekenhuis vervoerd. De evacuatie zorgde in de buurt voor flinke chaos.
