Rond 09:12 uur brak een grote brand uit in een container op het industrieterrein Brieltjenspolder in Made. De brandweer werd meerdere keren opgeroepen en rukte direct uit met spoed (P1-prioriteit). Volgens de nieuwsbronnen bevatte de container plastic afval en bevond zich op het terrein van een veevoerbedrijf. Het vuur breidde zich snel uit en de brandweer vreesde explosiegevaar vanwege tanks met brandbare stoffen op het terrein. De brand zorgde voor flinke rookontwikkeling die in wijde omtrek zichtbaar was, onder meer richting Oosterhout. De vlammen sloegen over naar een tankwagen, maar bereikten het bedrijfspand zelf niet.
