Rond 02:00 uur brak een zeer grote brand uit in het bedrijfspand van Alpine Engineering aan de Kleijweg in Den Hoorn. De brandweer rukte onmiddellijk uit met grote spoed (P1) en voerde meerdere versterkingsoproepen uit. Ambulances werden gealarmeerd vanwege de omvang van het incident. Volgens rodi.nl en De Telegraaf werd het bedrijfspand, waarin fabricage- en opslagfaciliteiten waren ondergebracht, volledig verwoest door de brand. Het vuur stond volledig uit de dakconstructie.
