Rond 11:54 uur brak een zeer grote brand uit in een stal op de Beukelzstraat in Clinge. De brandweer rukte massaal uit met meerdere eenheden en bleef gedurende ruim een half uur opdrachten actualiseren; de brand escaleerde snel van middelbrand naar zeer grote brand. Ook een ambulance werd gealarmeerd (12:17 uur). Volgens meerdere nieuwsbronnen werd de paardenstal volledig verwoest door de uitslaande brand. Twee paarden zijn in de vlammen omgekomen. Vier personen moesten worden behandeld, waaronder een brandweerman die nagekeken werd wegens oververhitting. Omroep Zeeland meldde dat zwarte rook en roetdeeltjes in de omgeving neerdwarrelden, waardoor inwoners van nabijgelegen De Klinge werden opgeroepen ramen en deuren te sluiten.
