Op dinsdag 11 maart brak rond 14:37 uur een grote brand uit bij industriebedrijf Flexoplast aan de Industrieweg in Harlingen. De brandweer rukte massaal uit met meerdere eenheden en riep vrijwel direct GRIP 1 in vanwege de omvang van de brand. Tussen 14:37 en 15:00 uur kwamen meer dan tien meldingen binnen die allen betrekking hadden op deze industriebrand. Volgens RBNieuws.nl was sprake van een zeer grote brand die aanzienlijke eenheden vroeg. Naast de hoofdincident in Harlingen registreerde de brandweer in dezelfde periode nog enkele andere meldingen in onder meer Venray, Brielle en Moerdijk, mogelijk het gevolg van de toegenomen alarmdruk in die regio.
