Rond 19:07 uur brak een zeer grote brand uit in een bijgebouw van motorcrossclub Bleiswijk aan de Groendalseweg. De brandweer rukte met spoed uit en escaleerde snel naar een zeer grote brand-classificatie. Meerdere brandweereenheden en ambulances werden ingezet. De brand ontstond in een loods en veroorzaakte enorme rookontwikkeling die tot in Zoetermeer zichtbaar was. Volgens diverse nieuwsbronnen werd de loods verwoest door het vuur.
