Rond 18:09 uur brak een brand uit in een loods op het industrieterrein aan de Handelsweg in Andijk. De brandweer rukte meerdere eenheden in met spoed uit (P1-prioriteit) en classificeerde het snel als grote, later zeer grote brand. Een ambulance werd ook ter plaatse gestuurd. Volgens Noordhollands Dagblad ontstond de brand na laswerkzaamheden aan een auto in een bedrijfsverzamelgebouw. De brand veroorzaakte veel rook en flinke schade in het pand. Rond 19:22 uur meldde Westfriesland Praat dat de brand onder controle was en dat de brandweer bezig was met nablussen.
